Interview at David Magazine
My interview with David Magazine finally occurred March 25th at 2:45pm.
The actually meeting was pushed back multiple times because Torren Moore had hurt his ankle the day we were to originally meet.
The office is located in Atlanta on the corner of Piedmont Rd and Cheshire Bridge. It does not seem like much on the outside, but has a much more modern look on the inside. As soon as I walked into the office I recognized Torren. He was on crutches.
He introduced himself and then we went to his office. Once we sat down we started into the interview. He first asked me why I was interested in David Magazine. I told him that it seemed like it could be a good opportunity and I felt I could learn a lot in this environment. I showed him my resume and book.
He then began to tell me a lot of what he does for the magazine and what other side projects that he has going on.
Torren did most of the talking and would occasionally ask me questions through out. He said that they currently do not have a set photographer in house. He also mentioned how they want to begin doing more of their own photos instead of using a lot of stock photos. He talked a lot about photo opportunities and that I may be able to do some shooting right away under his supervision. Torren also mentioned that they would like to expand and he wanted to know how I felt about traveling.
Overall, the interview went well. Torren seemed happy to have me, and eager to get started. By the end of the interview I felt that if I did well then I could very well be hired on after internship. I am looking forward to the opportunities that are possible with this internship.
